Jenny's new book is a scorcher!
Operation Sunshine came about when I overheard an acquaintance talking about her holiday. It sounded absolutely amazing and blissful and I thought, gosh, my holidays are never like that. They’re always a bit stressful at the airport, then the rooms are never as nice as you’d like and I get bitten by mozzies and burn something and take the wrong books (one year I took Madame Bovary on an all-girls holiday. Yeah, great choice. I’m sobbing into my margaritas whilst everyone else is living it up big-style).
So I wanted to write about someone who desperately wants to have the best holiday of their life, even though they have no money and don’t know where to go. Evie works for a plastic surgeon because I do find this phenomenon of plastic surgery really interesting - the way all the women who have it want to come out looking the same; and also, living in France, I do know a little bit about being an average looking person surrounded by really amazing looking people!
